The largest salt desert in Asia in Gujarat .Largest area of salt marshes that is Rann of Kutch is surrounded with the border between Pakistan and India .

Gujarat is the most famous tourist place in India . The capital of Gujarat is Gandhinagar .It is located on  the western coast of Indian Peninsula and shares borders with Pakistan and the state of Rajasthan to the north east . The language spoken in Gujarat is Gujarati . It offers a wide variety of vegetarian dishes , each with its unique cooking style, different kinds of pickles ,  farsans, chutney and foods that are always high on nutritional values . Some of the famous delicacy of Gujarat are Dhokla , Bardoli ki Khichdi , Methi ka thepla , Dal dhokli , etc .  During the winter (November through February) the temperature in Gujarat 28 degree celsius and during the summer (March through May) the temperature in Gujarat quite hot Gujarat is drier in the north than in the south. Rainfall is lowest in the northwestern part of the state—in the Rann of Kachchh—where it may amount to less than 15 inches (380 mm) annually. Only the small portion of Gujarat has covered with forest.  In some parts of the peninsula and northeastern Gujarat, deciduous species such as teak, catechu (cutch), axlewood, and Bangal kino (butea gum) are found. In the southwestern region of the Kathiawar Peninsula, the Gir National Park is located , it contain rare Asiatic lions and endangered Indian wild asses. Unfavourable climatic conditions, salinity of soil and water, and rocky terrain have hampered Gujarat’s agricultural activities, but the sector has remained a major component of the state’s economy, employing about half the workforce. Wheat, millet, rice, and sorghum are the primary food crops, with rice production being concentrated in the wetter areas.

The Ahmedabad is the largest city in the Gujarat and the 5th most popular city in India . The Sabarmati River runs through its center. On the western bank is the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, which displays the spiritual leader’s living quarters and artifacts. Across the river, the Calico Museum of Textiles, once a cloth merchant's mansion, has a significant collection of antique and modern fabrics .

The Great Rann of Kutch (or Rann of Kutch seasonal salt marsh) is a salt marsh in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat, India. It is about 7500 km2 (2900 sq miles) in the area and is reputed to be one of the largest salt deserts in the world. This area has been inhabited by the Kutchi people.
