Are we governed by the right government?

Many are in a dilemma on whether we chose the government. In this blog, I will be sharing my opinions on our government.

India is the largest democratic country in the world. Democracy's main principle is that people have authority over whom they choose as their leader. It is always the majority that wins, minority's opinions and choices go invalid. This when a lot of questions arises. Do we live in a democratic country? The answer to this is the quest for most of the Indians.

Indian politics allows its people to choose their own leader. It is given that not all 1.2 billion people prefer the same leader. This is when a majority of people choose a particular leader and the rest of the people choose other leaders. Democracy only cares about the majority and the minority are out of the picture. If democracy is all about people's choice then what happens to the dissents? Again a question with no answer.

The whole world is shattered because of the global pandemic. Although many countries controlled the widespread, many countries like India couldn't keep it under control. It is getting out of control. During an emergency situation like this is it really the right choice to allow the government to take care of its citizens? As the cases are increasing rapidly day by day isn't it the time to leave the decisions to healthcare providers to make the right decision. When the opposition party tweeted during the month of February on how the government is neglecting this menacing virus many didn't care about it. Now with a whopping number of cases, the government was very late to take action against the control of this deadly virus.

Tamil Nadu is one of the states with the highest number of cases and still their government denies social spreading which seems very ridiculous. This is the high time we think about choosing leaders who are actually educated and think rationally. When every job requires its candidates to have better educational qualifications and marks why doesn't a job which has to take the responsibility of leading a huge number of people doesn't require any educational qualifications and marks? Only when a country is in the right hands will it lead to a prosperous one.

Democracy is a myth. Not a single country can fulfil the wishes of all its people. Democracy is superficial, it doesn't meet all the requirements of the people. We are living in the 21st century and it is high time to bring changes to Indian politics not a minor one but a revolutionary one. Only a revolutionary change can help India to achieve unimaginable heights.
