Feminism: mismatch of words

It was considered in our society that women were more of a house material rather than going out and doing job but the time has changed now, women are earning well in their work fields and getting independent on their own.

We are living in 2020, and still, women have to fight for their rights, for their freedom, for equal opportunity, and the list has no limit. Feminism stands for equal rights and opportunities for all
genders; it's all about respecting others in the same and different fields. But to contrast, everyone has their own definition of feminism. Some think women expose themselves through the word feminism; some think women are suppressing others in the name of feminism; some think women can't do anything that is why they are grabbing opportunities through feminism; but, that's not true. From the ages, women have been facing deterioration in their phases of life. We can recall history; In Ancient times like Indus Valley civilization, women were supposed as a mother goddess. In Rig Veda, the position of women was honored, and education is considered an important qualification for marriage. In the Medieval period, so many evils like female foeticide, child marriages, the purdah system, and mostly patriarchy were practiced that still have not gone from our society. After that, in the Modern period i.e., the 18th and 19th century the position was at
the lowest ebb. Some men took stand for the women of that period like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand, Mahatma Gandhi. After came the 20th century in which women were started
given equal rights as men and it still prevails in our society. But the irony is, on the one side we provide everything to our women and on the other many women's still get pressurized to not to
go outside, not to wear short clothes, not to argue with others, not to give their ideas to men, to do whatever they are being told, not to ask questions from their husband or son, just apologize even if they are not at fault and many more. With the change in scenario, men do feel the pressure because education has made us contribute at the same level for different fields. Earlier women don't join the Army, Police force, Navy; but now they have joined, and are setting up an
example for the society, but no matter what some people will always try to pull you back.

Feminism was made to equalize the things that were being done in the past. But accordingly, things have changed, and women now are getting opportunities equal to men; somehow, some women use this word to attain their cruel mandates. The women who are not educated, who don't know about their rights are still get mortified by their in-laws or by their husbands. As society is getting more educated and skilled the crime against women is also boosting, and those who need feminism do not get anything.

In my perspective feminism is all about being humble and giving respect to the other genders and provide them with equal opportunities.
