As Covid-19 seems to be evolving with a fall and then rise of cases, a view on what's being done to shield people from it.

This year has taken a toll on everyone who was looking forward to the beginning of a new decade with the most unexpected event in history of 'social distancing' caused due to the spread the novel-Covid19. The word 'novel' is added in front of the virus because research continues to be done on it's effect on the patients that test positive with it and also when they recover. Since scientists and doctors are learning something new about it everyday during the process of making a vaccine for it, it has led to various companies and countries testing different vaccines.

The primary information that every individual all around the world should be aware of is the way this virus spreads, as knowing the problem would lead to knowing the solution. The virus can enter the body through nose, mouth, and eyes; thus if you touch an infected surface or breathe in the same air as the person who is tested positive for the virus, it would lead to you getting infected. Hence, the social distancing norms, wearing masks and sanitization of hands are important day-to-day activities that need to be added in everyone's lives.

Delhi had recently done a serological survey where the presence of specific antibodies that form to fight the virus in a person's body was searched for. Since the testing the cases seemed to be decreasing creating a relaxed atmophere for the residents, however a fresh wave of these cases have started coming across. With a rise of 45% in the new cases coming to Delhi, the relaxation done on the lockdown norms in the state needs to be cautious.

ICMR has allowed for testing of vaccine on the basis of demands of the states. Meanwhile, Oxford developed vaccine has entered its Phase-3 of testing where 50,000 volunteers would be getting the vaccination and further recovery rate, the time limit of the shield from Covid-19 and effects on the various people across the spectrum will be studied. As this Phase-3 testing begins, the scientists, doctors, and governments are targeting even a 50% of success in these trials as an incentive to develop the vaccine on larger scale and begin its distribution. However, it helps to know that India is continuing to look at 2 other vaccines and is at Phase-1 and Phase-2 respectively to keep seeking any new advances that could be made in their research.
