Demographics Of Healthcare Industry

In healthcare industry, a survey occurred that covers a wide range of healthcare companies across the India and only 17 valid responses were collected and then the responses were classified into 5 categories such as:-

  1. Hospital Quality
  2. Bed Size/ Capacity Of Hospital
  3. Hospital Certification
  4. Ownership Of The Hospital
  5. Total Number Of Doctors

Hospital Quality:- About 41.2% of hospitals are Multi-Speciality means these hospitals offers treatment for multiple disease while 17.6% of hospitals are Super-Speciality means these hospitals offers treatment for any particular disease. 29.4% of hospitals are teaching hospitals and there are about 11.8% of hospitals that are kept in other category.

Bed Size/ Capacity Of Hospital:- Among 17 hospitals, four hospitals were having less than 100 beds capacity and 13 hospitals were having capacity of more than 100 beds. Hospitals which have capacity of more than 100 beds are equipped with better resources and also there hospitals are very much active and conscious in adopting various quality programs in their organisations.

Hospital Certification:- Among those 17 hospitals, seven hospitals were ISO 9000 Certified and 10 were government accredited. This implements that the Indian Healthcare Industry is aware of quality tools and framework and also implementing quality tools and techniques.

Ownership Of The Hospital:- Out of 17 hospitals, 11 were private hospitals and 6 were owned by the Government. So, about 35.3% of the hospitals were government hospitals and 64.7% were private hospitals.
