Shape your mind with knowledge and interests rather than grades and facts.

The Oxford language defines Education as the process of receiving/ giving systematic instruction or as an enlightening experience for an individual. Education is something that prepares an individual for a mature life. It isn’t just limited to books and pens, it revolves around the themes of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, interests, and much more. For many years and till today many revolutionaries or it must be said the ‘unorthodox’ people who believe in the thought of beyond mundane have raised their voice for providing education to all, be it women or the scheduled castes. Education is never just limited to any particular section of society.

As quoted by Nelson Mandela, " Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." As it is education, which opens the mind of oneself to new thoughts and perceptions, differentiate between right and wrong, and have a new vision. It is a passport to the world. The process of obtaining an education of an individual can be compared to the life cycle of a butterfly. Gradually as we start obtaining an education, we are the eggs that are processing to become a caterpillar. Further, we surround ourselves with knowledge, beliefs, information, and interests that is similar to a caterpillar wooing itself in a cocoon. And finally, after all of these processes when we shift from an empty mind to an open one, we are the butterfly that is ready to flap her wings into the openness of the air.

Education isn't just learning of the facts but the training of the mind to think. We understand this better by taking an example of a theoretical physicist Albert Einstein who failed in school and couldn't come up with good grades but is still known for devising his theory of relativity, which revolutionized our understanding of space, time, gravity, and the universe. All this was possible by shaping his mind with knowledge and understanding his surroundings rather than rote learning or just running after grades.

Obtaining education gives morals to one's reasons and freedom to the mind. But it also isn't just about educating the mind but also the heart because it takes a big heart to obtain education and also educate.

"The goal to build one's intelligence and character is true education", said Martin Luther King Jr.
