Everyone is well acquainted with the fact that today's students are tomorrow's future. India is still a developing country and future advancement totally relies on a student's career.

This year, the entire world is struggling to survive from this global pandemic Covid-19. In order to ensure everyone's safety, the government has imposed a lockdown everywhere. This lockdown has its own pros and cons. As every coin has two faces, similarly the effect of lockdown on a student’s career has both positive and negative sides.

First of all, let's turn our attention to the negative aspects. Due to lockdown, schools and colleges are closed and students are forced to stay in their homes. This has badly hampered their academics. Getting caught in their homes, many students are utilizing their time in phones, laptops, watching movies, playing games, etc. which will not only affect their vision but also, will affect their mental growth. This lockdown is making many students lethargic and depressed. In order to cope up with the studies, professors have opted for online platforms. But what about those who are not having smartphones, laptops, or proper internet connection? 

No proper arrangements have been made for such students. Recently, a case occurred in which a girl committed suicide as she was not having any source to study online. So, lockdown is badly affecting the career of those students who are unable to cope up with the online platforms. 

Coming towards the college students, due to lockdown, their physical vocational training, and internships have been interrupted. Though companies have started online training and internships, that cannot suffice the need for physical training. It has also affected the life of the final year students who are soon becoming graduates. The month during which lockdown has occurred was the peak time when companies used to visit colleges in order to hire students. But due to the current scenario, many eligible students are still unemployed.

It is believed that wherever there is a disappointment, there is always a ray of hope. The same goes for the effect of the present scenario. Amidst so many negative consequences, there are some positive effects of lockdown on student’s careers as well.

This lockdown has made everyone shift towards the digital platform making our country digitalised. On one hand, if this lockdown has forced students to stay in their homes. So, on the other hand, it has increased their creativity and encouraged them to follow their passion and explore new things which will not only enhance their career but also will help them to make the right decision in their life. Many students were just dependent on textbooks but now, they have started exploring and visualizing through the digital platform. This lockdown has taught students to survive in the utmost difficult situation and made them pave a new way out. It has made them learn new skills and find new opportunities for them.

Amidst so many neagtivities also, there is a way full of positivity leading towards development.
