Adam's bridge also known as Ram setu has a debatable view poin on weather it is a naturally occured bridge or a man made one.

Growing up watching “Hanuman” a 2005 animated movie, I had this keen interest in “Ramayana” also so many people of my age could relate to the film as it was every child’s favourite and I guess still is. I exactly remember the sequence where Lord Rama's vanarsena (intelligent warrior monkeys) led by Nila constructed a bridge to cross the sea under the engineering direction of Nala in just five days. This bridge is also known as Adam's Bridge which is a chain of limestone shoals between Pamban Island also known as Rameswaram Island, off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India and Mannar Island, off the  north-western coast of Sri Lanka. Geological evidence suggest that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Surprisingly this cause way is visible from an aerial view even to this day.

Scientific studies reveal that the bridge is made of limestone shoals and is a linear sequence of coral reefs. It is made of floating rocks that are found scattered across Rameswaram and scientific theories suggest that some volcanic rocks do float on water. The bridges under the water now but the water is shallow in this part of the sea making navigation possible and the ships have to take another roundabout route to reach Sri Lanka. Oceanography research suggests that the bridge is 7000 years old which tally with the carbon dating of beaches near Dhanushkodi and Mannar Island with the supposed date of Ramayana. Hindus believe that Ram Setu is a holy side and hence no bridge should be built over it. From the perspective of science the bridge might destroyed the natural reefs which had existed for thousands years.  Some believe that Ram Setu is natural and some believe it is man- made. The detailing of the construction in the epic can be related to some scientific theories. An American science channel restarted the debate on Ram Setu saying that there exists evidence suggesting that the the bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka was man made not natural. This also adds to the Hindu mythology text in the Ramayana which claims that the Ram Setu bridge was constructed under the guidance of lord Rama. It is said that rams bridge was above the sea level even some historical records just that it was walkable till the 15th century. Even the estimated depth is around 3-30 ft in area of this cause way.
