ART & CRAFT IN SCHOOL CURRICULUM

At present, creative arts have entirely disappeared from the Indian education system as there was time when creative classes were considered compulsory for students. The mounting academic pressure and curriculum goals at current scenario has pushed art and crafts to sidelines.

An education in art and craft and training in the same does not only assists in refining core skills of children but also fosters the creative development in a child. Several form of sketching, art and craft train perseverance and focus of child enhancing cognitive development. It is equally essential for art and craft to be integral part of ethos of schools where several topics and concepts are learnt through art forms.

Children painting, sketching and sculpting play an important role in helping evolution of their visual skills. Pursue of art and craft has the benefits of encouraging children to exercise de-stress, explore one’s originality and a perfect indication of healthy education system. Children needs to be motivated to practice with increased eagerness and potency as it helps in advancement of academic standing as well as overall wellbeing.
